Bake Your Own Insanely Delicious Krispy Kreme Donuts

Donuts or Doughnuts? Whatever spelling you prefer, they are very tasty treats. Definitely a ‘sometimes’ food, according to my kids.

My oven stopped working over 2 months ago. As it’s almost 30years old, I decided not to get it repaired, but to get a new oven instead. The only issue was that instead of a wall oven, I wanted a freestanding oven. So last month my husband knocked out a kitchen cupboard and in the past week, we’ve had our electrician connect our new oven. I didn’t realise how much I would miss cooking in an oven.
In the 5 days since it’s been connected I’ve cooked pizza, 2 x slices, biscuits, lasagne and baked doughnuts.

These doughnuts could be fried like normal doughnuts, but I’ve baked them – that means that we can enjoy a doughnut or two (or three) without feeling as guilty!

Easter Cookies In 4 Easy Steps

I always love to bake for Easter. Here is one of my favourite recipes that I like to whipped up…. a batch of my easy sugar cookies – with a twist.

These sugar cookies are already decorated! I’ve incorporated soft sprinkles into the cookie dough before rolling it out and cutting it into Easter shapes. The effect means that they look like they are already decorated with pastel coloured spots.

Quick, Easy And Super-Moist Mulberry Yoghurt Cake

It’s that time of the year again…. mulberry time. Yet again my mother’s mulberry tree is laden with mulberry fruit.

My boys and I dropped in to visit my parents last week and also saw my aunty who was also visiting. We had lots of fun picking mulberries together and boy, did our fingers get red!

This cake is quick, easy and super moist. When you take a bite it’s almost as if the mulberries are a hit of jam in the cake – simply delicious.

This recipe can also be tweaked if you don’t have some of the ingredients on hand. For example: the plump, juicy mulberries could be substituted for raspberries (mmm – imagine a raspberry yoghurt cake!) or blackberries. Likewise, if you don’t have greek yoghurt at home, use flavoured yoghurt instead. The coconut oil could also be substituted for vegetable oil. Any alterations will change the flavour of the cake, but it will still be delicious.

A Heavenly Dense And Tangy Glazed Lime Slice That’s Easy To Make

We recently had a family day out and went fruit picking at a local farm. After I directed us the wrong way (oops!) we finally made it to the fruit farm. Mandarins, lemons and limes were ready to be picked. We collected our buckets, had a sneaky taste test whilst picking them, then filled them with lovely juicy mandarins, lemons and limes.

This lime slice is dense and tangy – just delicious. It’s also pretty easy to make, as there’s no need for electric mixers at all. Simply stir it all together.
