Heavenly White Chocolate and Strawberry Tart Full of Taste and Nutrients

I was at my local supermarket the other day and I got a nice surprise. As soon as I entered the store I saw strawberries on display – for only 50 cents a punnet. That’s bargain prices!

Of course I stocked my trolley with a few punnets. But I also wonder about the farmer who grew these strawberries, and how much the supermarket has paid the farmer for the strawberries? Supermarkets have a history of undercutting producers….

I love strawberries – they are simply delicious and so good for you. Packed full of vitamin C, fibre and antioxidants, they are nutrient dense and also low in natural sugars.

When I got home, I just had to make something with strawberries in it. This is how this White Chocolate and Strawberry Tart recipe came about:

It’s macadamia nut time again!  I’d been visiting my parent’s house, and saw the nut cracker on the kitchen bench. My mother always has bags of macadamia nuts put away, ready to be cracked, so I got cracking!

This maple and macadamia tart is similar to a pecan pie. Filled with creamy, crunchy macadamia nuts and sweetened by delicious maple syrup, it’s even more sinful served with whipped cream.

Delightfully Moist Pear and Frangipane Tart Recipe

Sweet, moist almond filling and ripe pears make this tart absolutely delectable.

I needed to make a dessert while Mr 2.5 & Mr .5 were having their afternoon nap, and wanted to make a tart…. Can it be done in 1 hour?

Of Course! Obviously this can only be done with a few shortcuts, but when you have kids around, shortcuts are a necessity. If I had extra time I would have made my own shortcrust pastry, but with a toddler and a baby in the house it’s not always possible, so puff pastry came to the rescue. This is one of my favourite desserts. I hope you enjoy it as well.
